And here at Skill Issue Coffee Roasters, we seek to source and roast specialty coffees tailored for both filter and the modern espresso - coffees that are bright, clean, and juicy with flavors that reflect and pay homage to the hard work that the farmers put in day in and day out, rain or shine, to bring to you.
What does this mean? Well, we make sure that we do lots of sample and test roasts to find the profile that best reflects the qualities of the coffee that we wish to highlight. In fact, we would even consider our roasting style heavily influenced by roasters such as 20grams 🇸🇬, Flip 🇸🇬, Zerah 🇸🇬, One Half 🇲🇾, The Crackpots 🇲🇾, Terraform 🇨🇳, Elemental 🇨🇳, Style Coffee 🇯🇵, and Warmth 🇯🇵, just to name but a few.
That being said, if you prefer your coffee bolder, then be forewarned that our selection will not fulfill that craving all that much. You might even find it too sour for your taste. But think of it like biting into an apple or an orange, that when ripe has the perfect balance of acidity and sweetness that leaves you wanting more. After all, as a certain Mr. Hoffman says, “Coffee is a journey…and great coffee exists across a spectrum”.
So give it time, try coffees you’re unfamiliar with, and as your palate becomes more refined, and more discerning of all the tiny little details that you might have missed previously, you might even find your preferences changing.
And if your tastebuds like what we’re cooking up, we too hope that you will share the good coffee and drag someone else down into the mire with you. Oh sorry, what we meant was onto this fascinating journey of discovery called specialty coffee.
But yeahhhhh, if you brew already not nice, then probably is cos you no skill. xD
