When it comes to specialty coffee, the occasional defect is inevitable − quakers, immature beans, shells, or even small rocks that make it through milling. While they're comparatively fewer in number than what you'd find in commercial coffee, they do add up in the cup, and not in a good way.

That’s where sorting before you get down to actually brew comes in.

This Coffeeplus bean dosing tray is able to comfortably hold 18g of beans at a time with the beans evenly spread out so you can actually see what you're working with. Defects become visible at a glance, and removing them takes all but a matter of seconds. A seemingly inconsequential step, but it's the difference between a clean cup and one with those weird, hard-to-place off notes.

At the same time, the higher side walls and gently-sloped outlet chute keep your beans where they should be (in the tray, then in the grinder) instead of staging an escape across your counter.
