A coffee family spanning 5 generations, Capim Branco has been in the care of the Andrades since 1901 with their ancestors’ arrival in Carmo do Paranaíba, in the Cerrado Mineiro region of the state of Minas Gerais. However, it wasn't until the 1970s, with the family's third generation, that they began to focus on enhancing the quality of their coffee.

Situated 1100 meters above sea level, the farm benefits from volcanic soil and enjoys an ideal climate for coffee cultivation, with well-balanced wet and dry seasons. Coupled with over a century of crop management expertise and strict harvesting standards, Capim Branco consistently produces only the finest coffee cherries. It's no surprise that their coffees regularly rank highly in Brazil's Cup of Excellence.

A hybrid of Yellow Catuai and Obata, the green Arara cherries are picked at the perfect stage of maturation then processed through a series of steps including flotation separation and electronic sorting. After which, the remaining cherries undergo a 72-hour aerobic fermentation in brick tanks before being meticulously slow-dried on 5cm-thick African beds.

In the cup, you can expect a vibrant yet pleasant acidity unusual for Brazilian coffee, accompanied by hints of navel oranges and ripe pluots, culminating in a satisfying finish reminiscent of roasted almonds. Overall, it's a fantastic coffee to kickstart your morning with, whether you prefer it as a boomer or turbo shot.
